Coffee/Tea Staining?

So Im about to finish up my first stitchery! YEAH :) Anyway ~ Im wondering what your way of coffee/tea staining works the best for you? I have tried it a few times and Im just not happy with the final outcome of it.... So if you don't mind sharing.... what is your secret to staining muslin? I know I should have done it before hand probably but, I wanted to stitch something while I was waiting at Devin's baseball practice....

My way is probably different from anyone elses but it works for me. I use vanilla that you use for baking. It takes very little and you just put it on the fabric and then I use cinammon and dust it on the top and use my finger to rub it all in. You can wash some of the cinammon off if you get to much. I then let it dry in the oven for about 10 minutes on 250. You can scroll through my blogs to find the stitchery that I have done and I just done another one today that I will post Monday. Would love to see what you have done.

Coffee & vanilla/caramel/rum extract, & a little cinnamon. Cook together in a pot and then paint it on when it's hot (store leftovers in the frige in a water bottle and shake then heat a bit in a bowl when you need more) Let dry over night or heat the oven to 300, TURN OFF, slip your project in on a cookie sheet and come back later!

I am so glad you asked that question because I have wondered that too. My attempts failed as well. I must try Kimberly's suggestion.
I wanted to invite you to visit my blog and enter my giveaway.
